Dr Sheridan demonstrating how to crop feed a pidgeon. It can be a life-saving act in a sick bird as you can deliver medication and nutrition with ease.
Steps:
1 - Restrain Bird
2 - Gently pass crop needle from the birds left to right (towards your left hand with bird facing you). The crop needle should be passed over the tongue and then gently slid down the oesophagus
3 - You will feel the crop needle running down your thumb on the birds right side - you should feel it slide down into the crop
4 - Once in the crop slowly inject the medication or food
5 - Gently withdraw the needle
